Wait… These Aren’t Printed?

One of the questions we hear most often at In~TreeCuts is:

“Does Nana paint these designs?”

The answer is both simple and special — every tray begins as laser engraved wood, and then Nana carefully hand colors every detail to bring the artwork to life.

Each tray starts as a blank wooden canvas. Once the design is engraved, Nana selects colors that complement the artwork and begins the detailed process of coloring each section by hand. From soft shading to vibrant highlights, every piece becomes a one-of-a-kind creation through patience, creativity, and care.

No two trays are exactly alike.

What many people don’t realize is how much time and attention goes into every finished piece. The coloring process isn’t printed, automated, or mass-produced. It’s handcrafted artwork created one detail at a time.

We recently created a behind-the-scenes video so you can see part of the process for yourself — from engraved wood to finished artwork.

Watching the tray come to life really showcases Nana’s incredible talent and the heart that goes into every piece we create.

At In~TreeCuts, we believe handmade items should tell a story, and Nana’s artwork is a beautiful part of ours.

Thank you for supporting handmade artistry and small business creativity.
